This gives a good snapshot of the state of women in the tourism industry and gives a good overview of the benefits and challenges faced by women who pursue social entrepreneurship and informal sector work in developing areas.

I am in RDU airport, about to board a flight to Bilbao, Spain where I will live for a few months with the goal to expand my worldviews and to be more career-ready. It’s 6 o’clock in the morning and my eyes are bloodshot with sleep I didn’t get because the adrenaline kept me up last night. However, from that point to the time I am writing this reflection, so much has changed in the world that it is not a surprise that my role as an intern also changed drastically. Coming into the position, I anticipated that my work with P1t would be fairly self-managed.
